These Ivory Days

The rain's gonna come down and no one ever knows if its gonna stop. With Cain on your right side, burning bridges 'neath the train I hop. So when you gonna stop so I can get off, but in a quiet, lonely, drunk, confusing way, I think I'll stay and keep the wolves away.
The shame of a let-down, nothing ever turns-out like you thought- I know I never turned-out like you thought.

Blame

I said your name you kept on walking. A gust of wind kept on talking about this woman you take. The sun came down thick that morning. A sailors song gave me warning of that woman you blame.

The Hallowing

I don't care if your lonely- no, I just don't care anymore. Hear what I said, and keep it in your head- I'll row this leaky ship ashore. The wall are stripped- let's stop pretending. It's all bare studs and open doors. No roof for rain- sad look, distain- and all that's left are apple cores. Don't worry I belong in sunsets, and I belong in someone-else's songs- live off beer and bread, the visions in my head- you don't even need to see it- "no one questions if I need it". No one to tell me when I'm older- no one to tell me if I'm dead. Rum-medicine, they tell me it's a sin, but I don't listen anymore. Your hair it hides the eyes your giving me. I've never heard a sound so hallowing, no not anything- not the Sirens.

The Attic

The attic steps, they whisper dirty secretes of the past. And you don't know so you try to forget the clash. You cedar wood, your scarlet hood and your heart it beats its last. "Oh, no- the great divide." The cupboard sinks, the porcelain cracks under all the weight. I'll shout your name through crippled flame and a wall made of glass. "Oh, no the great divide."
